Sarcasm

January 13th, 2008

Sarcasm is a language that I think takes skill, wit, and a defined sense of humor. Most people that use sarcasm are self-deprecating and don’t take themselves or situations too seriously. Sometimes sarcastic comments can brighten up a situation or it can often hurt people. When people are sarcastic in times that need to be taken seriously, they are not only ignoring the seriousness of the conversation but they are also offending what someone has to say by turning it into something funny, Especially when a person is getting judged or criticized, sarcasm can make it hurt even more. A direct criticism cans me helpful sometimes but when it is turned into a joke or some kind of amusement.
